Raising Children Who Know Where They're Going

Tom Spence, President of Spence Media, Dallas, TX

Introduction

Tom Spence

We all know young people who are confidently stepping into adult life impressively equipped with the strength of character and psychological
equilibrium to give of themselves in a life of service to their families, friends, and colleagues. These are young men and women with a powerful interior compass—young adults who although they may not yet know where they are going professionally, are nevertheless striding into a future that they view with optimism and confidence. What kinds of families produce such attractive individuals?

Tom Spence offers encouraging advice for ordinary fathers facing the extraordinary task of building great families. The challenges we face are serious, but each man has some powerful weapons at his disposal. The Leadership Forum invites you to a morning of target practice.

The Leadership Forum was established nine years ago by a group of downtown Boston professionals as a way to encourage men to live unity of life, integrating their faith into their professional, family and social lives.

The Leadership Forum takes its inspiration from the documents of the Second Vatican Council and from the writings of Popes Benedict XVI and John Paul II and of St. Josemaria Escriva, the Founder of Opus Dei. This talk is the third of the Leadership Forum’s ninth season. To learn more, please visit our website:
