This season, the Leadership Forum is examining "The Four Freedoms" as set forth by Franklin D. Roosevelt on January 6, 1941 in a speech before Congress. In Part II of this series, Professor Dwight Duncan will address Freedom of Speech. Is this freedom currently under siege any more than at any other time in American history? What about Freedom of Speech in other countries? Is progress being made or have we slipped back into the restrictions of earlier days?

About the Speaker

Professor Dwight Duncan teaches Consitutional Law at the University of Massachusetts Law School in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. He is an honors graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. A native Washingtonian, he has practiced law and written articles on legal, moral, and religious issues. He has argued several cases before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and the Appeals Court and has written briefs for the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the Massachusetts and Washington, DC bars, the Board of Directors of the Pro-Life Legal Defense Fund, and serves on the Board of Advisors of Massachusetts Citizens for Life.
